We get asked often what Techquity actually does day to day. Our services fall into four broad buckets, and each one deserves more detail than a single line on a services page can give it. This is the first in a short series walking through what each service really looks like in practice, starting with Technology Assessment.
In a technology assessment, a Techquity team member who has previously served as a CTO or VP of Engineering runs a detailed review of a company's software quality, cloud operations, and technology team. We might do this on behalf of a non-technical CEO, a board of directors, or an existing investor, or as part of a deeper due diligence exercise for a potential acquirer.
The process is rigorous. We review source code and system architecture directly with engineering leaders and team members. We examine development processes, technology choices, and key engineering metrics to understand whether the team is performing well and shipping high-quality software at a reasonable cost. We look for signs of accumulating technical debt — a cloud pricing model that will balloon at scale, or code that works fine under light load but is likely to break as usage grows. We also verify basic security and privacy practices and help identify operational risks, bottlenecks, or likely failure points.
At the end of the assessment, we deliver a report summarizing findings by severity (red, yellow, green) along with concrete recommendations for addressing the most critical areas.
